Free disposable email checker

Check whether an address uses a disposable email provider

Enter an email address or domain to check it against Emvero's current lists of temporary-mail providers. These services offer addresses people can replace or abandon easily.

Disposable lookup

Only the domain is read. Paste a whole address and the part before the @ is discarded before the lookup - it reaches no answer and no log.

Enter an email address or domain and select Check. The tool compares the domain with the current disposable lists. It does not contact a mail server or send email.

Use the free checker below without an account or credits. It classifies the domain without testing the mailbox or confirming who controls it.

Domain classification · No mailbox test · No email sent

What the result means

On the disposable lists

The domain is listed as a temporary-mail provider. An address at that domain may still receive mail while its mailbox is active. The result does not tell you how long the mailbox will last.

Not on the disposable lists

The domain is absent from Emvero’s current data. New providers and newly added domains may be missing. This result cannot establish that an address is permanent, safe or able to receive mail.

An error or rate-limit message means the lookup returned no classification. Follow the message’s instructions to correct the input or try again; an unavailable answer says nothing about the domain.

How the domain lookup works

For person@example.com, Emvero discards person and looks up example.com. The part before @ has no effect on this check, so every address at that domain receives the same classification. The result shows the normalised domain and a reference-list version identifying the data used.

The checker does not query domain or mail-routing records in DNS, connect to a mail server over SMTP, or send email. It cannot establish whether the domain receives mail, whether person has a mailbox or whether someone controls that mailbox.

The disposable email glossary entry explains how temporary addresses work. For evidence about an address’s format, mail routing and possible recipient acceptance, use the full email verifier. To establish whether someone controls the mailbox at that time, use email confirmation.

Choose how to handle temporary addresses

A disposable address may be unsuitable for account recovery or ongoing contact, even if it can receive a confirmation message today. If email is optional, you may have no reason to reject it. Choose a rule based on what your service needs from the address:

Your situation One possible next step
Account recovery depends on email Ask for an address the person can keep and confirm
A trial benefit should be claimed once Review disposable-domain matches alongside other abuse signals
Email is optional Record the signal without blocking signup

The classification alone cannot identify a person, establish that a signup is abusive or detect every bot. The SaaS trial-abuse guide explains how to use it alongside other controls.

Use the checker from your application

To run the same lookup from your backend, call POST /v1/disposable with a bearer credential. Direct API calls require this credential even though the public form above needs no account. The domain field accepts a domain or full email address; the part before @ is discarded and never appears in the response.

curl -sS https://api.emvero.tech/v1/disposable \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer emv_your_credential" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"domain":"user@example.com"}'

Illustrative response for a domain absent from the lists:

{
  "domain": "example.com",
  "ascii_domain": "example.com",
  "disposable": false,
  "dataset_version": "2026-08-18.1+ab12cd34ef56"
}

false means the domain was absent from that version of the lists. The lookup costs no credits. There is no batch endpoint; send one request per domain and respect any rate-limit response.

A full verification includes this classification in checks.disposable alongside the other evidence about the address. See the email verification API for the full response.

Questions

Frequently asked.

How do I check an email address for a disposable provider?

Paste the address into the checker above and select Check. Emvero discards the part before @ and compares the domain with its current lists. You can also enter the domain on its own. The lookup is free and needs no account.

Does the checker cover temporary, burner and throwaway email?

These names often describe the same kind of service: a provider offering addresses people can easily discard. The checker reports whether the domain appears on the disposable lists. It does not distinguish mailbox lifetimes or tell you when an address will expire.

Does an unlisted result mean an address is safe?

No. The domain is absent from Emvero's current lists, which may not include a new or uncommon provider. The lookup does not check mail routing, test the mailbox or confirm who controls it.

Is a disposable email address undeliverable?

A disposable mailbox may receive mail while it is active. A match identifies the provider category; this lookup does not establish whether the address can receive a message. Use the signal to decide how your service handles temporary addresses.

Can I check disposable domains through an API?

Yes. Send a domain or full email address to POST /v1/disposable in the domain field. The response includes disposable, the normalised domain and dataset_version. Direct API calls require a bearer credential and cost no credits. Each request handles one domain; there is no batch endpoint.

Full email verification

Check whether the address can receive mail

A full check examines syntax and mail routing, and can ask the receiving server about the recipient when the provider permits it. Confirm a new account for 1,000 credits without a card. That covers 100 full checks or up to 500 domain checks.
